A ledger for one city

Burbank Ledger is an independent civic-data desk for Burbank, California. We turn public records into pages you can read and files you can download. We are not the city, the police department, the utility, or the school district.

Why this exists

Burbank does not run a Socrata-style open-data portal. Records are scattered across ArcGIS, Granicus, state CSVs, and PDFs. We collect the ones that can be republished, keep the provenance, and put a date on every figure.

Independence

No city seal, no campaign committee, no government hosting. Contact data@burbankledger.org.

The fetch bot

Scheduled jobs identify as BurbankLedgerBot/0.1 (+https://burbankledger.org/about#bot; data@burbankledger.org). They hit documented government endpoints, honor robots.txt, and archive raw bytes. They do not scrape commercial crime maps or permitting UIs.
